Side A: Gothic two chord organ mood holds as garage freak-out electrified guitar break and cough-syrup medicated guitar & drums plugged into an inebriated tape recorder.


Side B: Heavy piaf ballad in the key of elegy, acoustic guitar, tambourine, electric guitar in basement warp. Laconic mono-chordal major-key sub-stones riff, ending in as a forlorn guitar minor-key figure sways with a dissassembled garage band drum-kit rattle.

Heavy magnetic pulse of radiophonic workshop, a lost OST from a 70's dystopian science fiction classic, before a climax of UK-garage handclaps & cardboard box bass.



From the mircocosmic Stoke-On-Trent locus, Andy Jarvis, former collaborator with Phil Todd of Ashtray Navigations in the now defunct A Warm Palindrome, collaborator with Joincey in the duo Saboutuese, and former helm of the 3" CD-R Label First Person, that worked to document the eternally nascent UK sub-underground.

A live tape captured on the last two concerts in a three week european tour, in Hull's incredible boathouse, and in the hospitality of Sheffield's Singing Knives:


One jam wild with p.a. warped wordless falsetto, mainlined, mangled, and warped solos gives way to laconic velvet rhythm. The other opiated and seditive guitar meditations, elegiac vocals, swelling crystaline feedback, and Jon Collin blues.

Ross Parfitt is a Sheffield based musician, sometime Hunter Gracchus and Tirath Singh-Nirmala collaborator, and dedicated to exploring minimal compositional devices to maximal conclusions.

Swell To Great documents two densly woven electronic compositions:

Side A is the more pastoral of the two, opening with a slowly enveloping gong before stuttering wav files of abstracted source material interject, thick & low contiuous tones pull you through as higher frequency sound shimmers in and out of the stereofield.

Side B is a wall of dense chord organ drones, overlapping and interleving in tense, unsettling, aharmonic, combination; ghostly chimes drift in and out of focus, whilst sound files shift in constant flux.

INFINITE LIGHT - HAGIOGRAPHY / BHADRAPAD POORNIMA 2 x c42

Double tape of hypnopompic psychedelic late night times recorded in one evening from solo guitarist, north-west conduit, Infinite Light. Entirely recorded live from dusk 'til dawn in one night, September 2009. 84 minutes of twilight guitar, tape loop murmur, warbling falsetto wordless vocals, gong like metal bowls, bridge-less one-string violin, bell, cymbal, & radio static.

Side A: A side length reverbed slow-burning psych-ballad of dictaphone speakered fuzzed-guitar tipping into saturation, unhinged treble-heavy solos, and hypnopompic vocals.

Side B: Sculpted extranous noise through transistor radio amplification. Heavily fuzzed, saturated, no-fidelity guitar ripps through a loose revisiting of 'Exegesis*', with chorale vocals of reverbed intimacy and throbbing chords. Mantric gong rings synchronise and phase in & out with a one note guitar riff-cycle.

Side C: An instantoeus lightning rod of eleven minute garage rock satori during a moment of fatigue-heavy enlightment, Bell ringing tape-looped into ambient lo fidelity and electrical murmur. Meditative guitar finger picked, cycling over primitive, shrieking, one string violin. Cymbal rings over sparse unamplified electric guitar and hymnal phrases.

Side D: Drifting radio static washing over gong-like temple percussion. Short, throbbing, tape loop pulsing under tambourine and vocal ritual music. Somnabulist finger-picked psych-folk ballad of reverbed contemplative treble and singing. Moonlight three chord paean to late-night lunar romance.

Edition of 60, sprayed Green and Azure tapes in a back to back double tape box, with artwork featuring two photos from solitary walks in North Wales, 2006.

Debut solo cassette from North-West guitarist with connections to the Axis Mundi, Stuckometer, Beach Fuzz, groups.

Three tracks of Modal guitar solos, pinned around barely there chord structures, soaked in varying degress of FM static and over-driven speaker fuzz, accompanied with a handful of self help, glottal stopless, lyrics sung in a hymnic wavering falsetto. Whilst a percussive tape loop whirs submerged barely audible amongst tape and speaker hiss.
